Reynard the Fox-Museum [Reineke Fuchs Museum]

The Reynard the Fox Museum is a private museum. It is member of the association of museums of local history of Gießen-Hessen and INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF MUSEUMS [ICOM].

„The fox in art and literature“

is the collective name for the about 2000 exhibits. More than 220 different books deal with Reineke Fuchs. A great number of engravings, copies, foxes in porcelain, ivory, meerschaum, glass, ceramics, wood and leather are exposed in the showcases. The oldest exhibits date from the beginning of the 18th century. All exhibits are catalogued, numbered, labelled and photographed. The Reineke Fuchs Museum has been publicized by TV and press in many European countries.
